About me

I am the Director of Technical Projects at Nine By Blue, developing tools and helping on-line businesses develop search traffic acquisition strategies from both a technical and a content-oriented point of view.

Most of my time is spent working on projects for clients, but I also write a monthly article on Technical SEO for Search Engine Land and speak at conferences from time to time. If you want to get a sense of the technical work we do at Nine By Blue, read through these.

Before Nine By Blue, I worked Todd Nemet speaking at SMX West 2011 on Technical SEOat Google for six years in the AdWords direct sales engineering team helping Google’s largest advertisers understand and implement Google technology like Google Webmaster Tools, Google Analytics, AdWords API, and YouTube’s APIs.

I also managed the beta programs and support department for Google’s Enterprise division, where I became intimately familiar with Google’s search technology.

I’ve been working with search engines in one form or another since 1994 at companies such as Inktomi and Verity (now Autonomy).

I have a BS in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Signals and Systems from Purdue University, and I currently live in Palo Alto, California.

More detail, along with some nice things people have said about me, can be found at http://www.linkedin.com/in/toddnemet.

You can follow me on Twitter at @nemet or read my book reviews on goodreads.com. I must warn you that I rarely tweet about SEO, and I never tweet that SEO is dead.

About this site

The world doesn’t need another SEO blog, so I made this simple site containing some of the tools and resources that I use when I’m working on optimizing or assessing sites for clients.

I figure if I find this site useful that other people will find it useful, too. If you have any suggestions for how to improve it please let me know.
